EBB AND FLOW
Project size: 2000 m2 / 0.5 acres
Status: Competition Entry
Location : Bedok Reservoir, Singapore
THE BEDOK WATER VENTURE OUTLET was conceived as a central node in one of Singapore’s water catchment areas for the storage of boats and use by general public. Conceptualised as a key connector, the structure uses the imagery of the ebbing and flowing of the waves to create a visual and architectural connection with the surrounding nature, while supporting the existing circulation for the different users on site.
Inspired by the context and programme, parametric waves form ribs of engineered timber that envelope the three volumes. while opening it up to the views of the reservoir. The raised ramp allows for the access of users while continuing the existing flow of circulation through the site.
